Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation
Get funding for your Research, then disseminate, communicate and exploit the research results
This free, four-hour course is designed to enhance researchers’ understanding of the importance of communication, dissemination, and exploitation (CDE) as key elements in maximising the impact of research projects. With a specific focus on Horizon Europe proposals and projects, the course provides participants with the necessary tools and skills to develop a successful CDE strategy. Through practical case studies and interactive learning, researchers will gain insights into increasing project visibility, using social media effectively, and pitching research outcomes to a broader audience.
This course is primarily aimed at doctoral and postdoctoral researchers but is also relevant for early-career researchers who are either interested in the topic or actively involved in a research project. A basic knowledge of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme is recommended.
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand the concepts, definitions, and distinctions between Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation in research.
- Develop a structured Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation Plan for research projects.
- Identify and utilise appropriate communication and dissemination tools and channels, with a focus on Horizon Europe.
- Apply best practices for increasing project visibility within the European Union.
- Use social media strategically to enhance research impact.
- Learn how to visually pitch research results effectively.
- Be equipped to apply these skills in the development of collaborative R&I project proposals and the implementation of research projects.
This course is designed for:
R1: First-Stage Researchers (PhD Candidates and Early-Career Researchers)
- Require foundational knowledge of gender biases and their effects on research outcomes.
- Need to learn how to apply gender perspectives in research and funding applications.
- Motivated by the opportunity to build a more inclusive academic environment.
R2: Recognised Researchers (Postdoctoral Researchers and Academics)
- Require advanced strategies for gender-sensitive research methodologies.
- Need to address systemic challenges related to gender discrimination in academia.
- Motivated by improved research credibility, funding success and institutional leadership opportunities.
R3: Established Researchers (Senior Academics, Principal Investigators and Policy Makers)
- Need to lead efforts in implementing gender-sensitive policies within research institutions.
- Face challenges in fostering inclusive and diverse teams in academic settings.
- Motivated by institutional responsibility, compliance with funding requirements and promoting research excellence.
